My research approaches the social aspects of local and global challenges, particularly surrounding crisis and disaster.

I have written on emerging radical articulations of resilience and the capacity for grassroots response to environmental and social issues.

My current doctorate explores how community recovery initiatives shape perceptions of democracy and participation post disaster in Christchurch Aotearoa/New Zealand
