GDP Center Administrator, Boston University

Rebecca Cowing conducts research on the intersection of trade and climate policy, specifically looking at the absence of the mitigation of international maritime shipping emissions by countries and international organizations.

Prior to becoming the GDP Center Administrator, Rebecca worked for the World Wildlife Fund in the China Markets Division, where she was instrumental in preparing reports that looked at the WTO and the sustainability of China’s international supply chains. She has also served in the United States Army and worked in many different sectors. She holds a BA in History and Geography from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has taught courses in Environmental Science and Sustainability.
