Senior Manager - Communications, Australian Stem Cell Centre

Rebecca Skinner is the Senior Manager - Communications at the Australian Stem Cell Centre. Rebecca is responsible for the Centre’s public education and outreach programs, coordinates the international activities of the ASCC and is secretariat to the International Consortium of Stem Cell Networks (ICSCN).Rebecca has been at the ASCC since 2006 initially as the International Affairs Manager, a role funded by the Victorian State Government to establish the ASCC’s role in the ICSCN and then moving into her current role in June 2008. During her time at the ASCC Rebecca has worked to significantly expand the ASCC’s public education and engagement activities. She has overseen a major upgrade to the ASCC’s website and implemented a successful web 2.0 strategy ensuring that factual and plain language information on stem cells is easily available to the Australian public.. She also oversaw the publication and promotion of the ASCC’s highly successful resource the Patient Information Handbook.

Rebecca holds a science degree from Murdoch University and a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy and Management from Monash University. Her background includes science policy and management at the State Government level.
