Professor, Strategy, Operations and Supply Chain Management, University of Technology Sydney

Renu Agarwal is a Professor in Strategy, Operations and Supply Chain Management at UTS Business. In her current faculty position, she provides leadership and conducts research in the disciplinary fields of service science, service value networks, supply chain management, dynamic capability building, management practices, and innovation and productivity. As a Research Director, Renu has been instrumental in managing several federal government projects on management practices in manufacturing firms for both Australia and New Zealand and at state government level in Australian hospitals, participating in a global study of management practice and productivity, working in collaboration with LSE, McKinsey and Stanford University. The research findings have been pivotal in furthering Australian policy making in the space of workplace change and transformation and has expanded Renu’s area of expertise which include improved management and leadership practices, enhanced innovation at a firm level, and skills development and participatory workplace organisations. Renu has worked with various government, industry organisations and associations which include the Department of Industry Canberra, NSW Premier and Cabinet Department, NSW and Queensland Health, Ministry of Economic Development NZL, VCEC and DBI Victoria, Resmed, SGEC, CSIRO, AiG, McKell Institute, IPAA, SKE, and ASR, and is currently working on several leadership, management practices and skills development initiatives. Renu has advised and published widely in the areas of innovation, service value networks, management practices and productivity, management education and dynamic capability building through publications of book chapters, public reports, and articles in top tier international journals. She is also an editor of several books.
