Reyn van Ewijk is the professor for Statistics and Econometrics at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. Reyn specialized in the application of econometric and statistical techniques on large databases in the health domain. His work generally has an interdisciplinary focus, combining econometrics and statistics with various other disciplines including epidemiology, health services research and psychology.

Reyn studied both psychology an economics at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands and received his doctoral degree in Applied Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam in 2009. He worked as a postdoc at the economics department of VU University Amsterdam and as a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics. From 2011-2014, he was an assistant professor at the department of Epidemiology & Health Care Research at the University Medical Center Mainz. His publications are predominantly in the domains of economics and the life sciences.
