Lecturer in social work, University of Kent

I am a lecturer in Social Work on the Medway Campus. I joined the University of Kent in 2014 . Prior to this I was a Practice Manager in a Local Authority Youth Offending Team. My previous social work experience also includes managing a 16 plus team for Looked After Children and care leavers, working with Unaccompanied Minors, and with foster carers.

I began lecturing in social work in 2004 for the Open University where I continue to be an Associate Lecturer. I am also an Associate Tutor at Sussex University.

My first degree was in English and Politics at York University. I completed my social work training and Msc in Social Policy and Social Work in 1997 at the London School of Economics. I completed my Practice Teachers Award and Post Qualifying Child Care Award at Canterbury Christ Church.
