Senior Lecturer, College of Sport and Exercise Science and member of Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL), Victoria University

Dr Baka has been employed at Victoria University since 1979. He teaches a number of subjects including ‘Olympic Studies’, ‘Personal Training” and the ‘Australian Sport and Fitness Delivery System’ and supervises postgraduate students.

His main area of research is related to the Olympic movement, especially Australia at the Olympics as well as international sport research. He is currently an Associate of the Australian Centre for Olympic Studies and a member of the International Society for Sport History.

His main portfolio includes managing the College of Sport and Exercise exchange programs to such institutions as the University of Western Ontario, Indiana University and the German Sport University.

Richard is an Honorary Faculty Member in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. Since 1996 he has also been the Director of the very popular Victoria University Sports Camps program which has seen thousands of primary and secondary students attend Victoria University during school holiday periods.
