Director, Australian Centre for Olympic Studies; Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Business, University of Technology Sydney

Richard Cashman has been Director of the Australian Centre for Olympic Studies since 2005. He is the author (with Simon Darcy) of Benchmark Games: The Legacy of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games (2008). During the Paralympic Games he worked in a research library in the Main Press Centre.

He has published three other legacy studies on the Sydney Olympic Games. The Bitter-Sweet Awakening: The Legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games (2006); Sydney Olympic Park 2000 to 2010: History and Legacy (2011); and (with Rob Harris) The Australian Olympic Caravan from 2000 to 2012: A Unique Olympic Events Industry (2012).

Cashman has also published two histories of Australian sport: Paradise of Sport (1995 and revised in 2010) and Sport in the National Imagination (2003). He was President of the Australian Society for Sports History from 2001 to 2004.
