Rochelle Hentges

Postdoctoral fellow, University of Calgary

Dr. Rochelle Hentges is a developmental psychologist and postdoctoral research fellow at the Owerko Centre and the University of Calgary’s Department of Psychology. Her program of research focuses on how children develop within contexts of stress or adversity, with a focus on social, emotional, and cognitive development. In particular, she is interested in examining how and why some children are resilient while others are more vulnerable to early adversity. She completed her Master’s of Science in Child Development at the University of Stirling in Scotland and her PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Her fellowship is funded by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute’s Talisman Energy Fund for Healthy Living and Injury Prevention.
