Roger Sapsford is an honorary research fellow at the University of Aberdeen and a sociological social psychologist who has been interested in how people navigate within and are at the same time defined by social systems, their history and the discursive frameworks they have and make available.. He is a co-author, with Pamela Abbott and Claire Wallace, of The Decent Society: Planning for Social Quality, which examines how nation states manipulate and satisfy their citizens’ needs for economic security, social cohesion, social inclusion and empowerment and how these aspects of social process relate to each other.
