Lecturer in Dementia and the Media, Flinders University

Rose Capp BSc, BA [Hons], RN, MPallC Aged Care

I am a writer on film and have published widely in hard copy and online film journals. As a working film critic, I review regularly for print and radio outlets. I have lectured in cinema studies [Monash University, RMIT and ANU], participated in numerous academic and film industry panel discussions and forums and am currently the President of the Film Critics Circle of Australia.

I have also pursued a concurrent career in the health sciences, working as a Registered Nurse in residential aged care for 30 years. I am currently undertaking a cross-disciplinary Ph.D. at Flinders University exploring how representations of dementia in mainstream film and television shape opinion about the disease in the public domain. I have published in this area in both film and gerontology journals.
