Dr Royce Carroll is a Professor in Comparative Politics at the University of Essex. His research focuses on democratic institutions and the role of representation in the policy-making process, particularly in the areas of political behavior, polarization and attitudes; electoral systems, legislative behavior, and coalition politics; and quantitative methods for the analysis of political preferences and ideology. Dr. Carroll's expertise includes comparative electoral and coalition politics, in particular the US Congress and US elections.
