Associate Professor, University of Southampton

Dr Ruth Bartlett is a leading authority on understanding and improving the lives of people with dementia and their family carers through a citizenship lens. She has led research projects and published widely on this topic including a book (co-authored with O’Conner) on Broadening the Dementia Debate towards Social Citizenship. She is currently working on her next book with Dr Tula Brannelly on rethinking life at home for people with dementia. Dr Bartlett is programme lead for the MSc Complex Care in Older People, Co-director of the University’s Doctoral Training Centre in Dementia Care and Principal Investigator of an interdisciplinary, cross-faculty research project funded by the Alzheimer’s Society.
