Professor and Director: Centre for Applied Food Sustainability and Biotechnology , Central University of Technology

Ryk Lues holds the positions of Professor of Food Safety and Director of the Centre for Applied Food Sustainability and Biotechnology (CAFSaB) at the Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa. His main field of specialisation comprises social-behavioural aspects impacting on food safety and organisational food safety culture.

As a member of faculty he has lectured, supervised, and presented widely on the topic, both locally and abroad. He serves on several national regulatory and legal advisory teams, has held the office of Vice-President of the South African Association of Food Science and –Technology (SAAFoST) and is an NRF rated scientist.
