Senior Lecturer, Dance, Deakin University

I am a former dancer with international experience in modern and contemporary dance. I was a founding member of Danceworks in Melbourne (1983). I originally gained a BA (Asian Studies) from the ANU and more recently completed an MA in Critical Theory and PhD from the Centre for Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies at Monash Clayton. I publish regularly in dance, performance and humanities journals and have translated a major work of dance scholarship from French to English. I am also a regular contributor to local and international forums for the discussion of dance practices. I co-curated the current 2017 MUMA Dance Remains series. I am co-editor of Writings on Dance, an occasional publication 1985 - the present.
