William Noble Research Fellow in English, University of Liverpool

I mostly work on contemporary poetry and the relationships between literature and science. After teaching at Queen Mary and UCL I joined the department as the William Noble Research Fellow in 2015 and I am involved with the University of Liverpool’s Literature and Science Hub, the Centre for New and International Writing and the Centre for the Humanities and Social Sciences of Health, Medicine and Technology.

My first monograph, Poetry and the Anthropocene, explores questions of ecology, biology and technology in contemporary British and Irish poetry, and was published by Routledge in summer 2016. I am currently working on a new project that explores representations of climate change across literature, theatre, film and art. I have written about literature and science for iNews, the TLS and the Independent and I am a contributing editor for the quarterly arts journal The White Review.
