Associate Professor, Colorado State University

Sammy Zahran is an Associate Professor of Demography in the Dept of Economics. He is also Co-Director of the Center for Disaster and Risk Analysis, and Resident Fellow in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability. Sammy is also an Associate Professor in the Dept of Epidemiology in the Colorado School of Public Health. In 2011, he was awarded the Alumni Promise Award from the University of Tennessee. In 2010, he was awarded a Monfort Professorship. He received the Water Pik, Inc. Excellence in Education Award in 2010. In 2008, he was awarded the Best of Paper of the Year by the American Planning Association. His published research appears in Risk Analysis, Environmental Science and Technology, Atmospheric Environment, Neurotoxicology, Disasters, Science of the Total Environment, Ecological Economics, Environmental Research, Environmental Pollution, Environment International, and the International Journal of Epidemiology. In 2012, Sammy was awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation health fellowship at Columbia University.
