Sangeeta Khorana

Professor of Economics, Bournemouth University

My work focuses on conducting economic impact assessment of free trade agreements, focusing in particular on EU’s trade agreements with emerging economies. I also have expert knowledge of the Indian and Vietnamese economic issues.

I have conducted commissioned research for the European Commission (EuropeAid and FP7), UK-ESRC, British Academy, ITCILO, Commonwealth Secretariat, InterAmerican Development Bank, and several other institutions.

Recently completed projects include conducting economic assessment of Brexit for the Welsh Assembly and industry sectors, mapping global value chains, as well as providing advice on procurement reform to countries in Asia and the Caribbean.

I am Trustee Director of Institute of Exports and International Trade in London and non-executive Director on the board of Satin Creditcare Network Ltd, a leading NBFC in India.

I am member of DFID’s Expert Trade Advisory Group. In addition, I have an advisory role with Global Trade Professionals Alliance in Australia, and with Trade and Investment Committee of the PHD Chambers of Commerce and Industry in India. I am Research Associate at the Centre for Sciences and Humanities in New Delhi.

I regularly provide evidence on trade related matters, recent ones include to the Scottish and European Parliament.

I regularly publish books and journal articles on trade policy.
