I am qualitative sociologist who studies racial inequality, urban neighborhoods, and Latinx migration. My book, Behind the White Picket Fence: Power and Privilege in a Multiethnic Neighborhood, was published by UNC Press in 2014 and was awarded the 2015 Distinguished Contribution to Research Book Award by the American Sociological Association’s Latino/a Sociology Section.
