Sarah McNaughton

Associate Professor, Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition, Deakin University

Associate Professor McNaughton from the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition at Deakin University is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and a nutritional epidemiologist, supported by an NHMRC Career Development Fellowship. She is also Head of Discipline for Dietetics, in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences.

A/Prof McNaughton’s current research interests include the assessment of dietary behaviours, diet quality and dietary patterns across the life-course, their determinants and role in health. Her research program focuses on developing methods of assessing food intake and dietary patterns, examining dietary behaviours and their determinants across the life-course focusing on children, young adults and older adults; and examining the influence of dietary patterns on key drivers of morbidity and mortality, and biological mediators of health risk.
