PhD Candidate, Political Science, University of East Anglia

I am currently undertaking a PhD in Political Science at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Prior to starting a PhD, I completed a BA in History at the University of Hull, and a MA in South East Asian Studies and Cambodian language at the School of Oriental and African Studies.

I have held a number of positions which have shaped my interests, including positions in education, as a Research Fellow at the Cambodian Institute for Strategic Studies (CISS) in Phnom Penh and more recently in local government in the United Kingdom.

My research interests include labour movements, labour history, the British Labour Party, with a particular emphasis on the labour movement in East Anglia and the wider East of England. Linked to this, I have a keen interest in electoral systems, British and European politics, as well as Cambodian politics in particular and South East Asian politics in general.

In addition to being a Derby County F.C. fan (Athletic Bilbao are my adopted La Liga team) I also work on the relationship between football and politics.
