Dr Sherene Idriss is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalization, Deakin University. She specialises in research on young people, ethnicity, race and identity.
She obtained her PhD from the Institute of Culture and Society, Western Sydney University. Her thesis examined the creative vocational aspirations of Arab-Australian young men and how categories of youth, gender, social class and personal ambition intersect and play out in ethnic-minority communities.
Sherene Idriss is the author of Young Migrant Identities: Creativity and Masculinity (2018).
