Simon Walters

I completed my Mixed Methods PhD in 2011 in the sociology of sport, focusing on young people's experiences of sport.

My research continues in this area and my primary focus is on enhancing young people's experiences of organised sport.

My research has focused on influencing our thinking as a society about the role of sport, and trying to bring about a culture change which will enable sport to be something that can help young people develop to their full potential - not just as athletes.
