Stephanie Gordon

PhD Candidate, University of Leicester

I am a final year doctoral student at the University of Leicester. I am particularly interested in how identity documentation regulates relationships between citizens and the state. Within this sphere I look at state denial of legal identity documentation in China, and how this impacts people's citizenship.

I have studied China for more than eight years, including three and a half years living in various cities across China. My expertise span the Chinese legal, political and anthropological fields. Using this background I have extensive experience in providing country expert reports for immigration lawyers representing Chinese clients.
