Stephanie Malone

Postdoctoral research fellow, School of Psychology, Australian Catholic University

Stephanie Malone joined ACU in 2013. Prior to this she completed her PhD at Lancaster University (UK 2012) and worked as a lecturer in Psychology at Edge Hill University (UK) where she specialised in lecturing Educational Psychology.

Stephanie's research interests focus on language development and learning disorders. In relation to this, her research explores: 1) Typical language development, including word learning constraints (e.g., mutual exclusivity) and the influence of social pragmatics 2) Language development in children with autism, paying particular attention to the impact that social difficulties have on word learning and 3) Comorbidity of learning difficulties, with an emphasis on difficulties relating to language.
