Honorary Professor, Faculty of Science, Australian National University

Professor Stephen Bygrave has worked on climate change, renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport for the past 30 years, primarily in policy and research positions at international, national and local levels. He has a PhD in Resource and Environmental Management from ANU and Bachelors of Economics and Science.

Stephen has worked on and delivered many significant environmental initiatives, including leading teams designing the Australian Renewable Energy Target in the late 1990s, developing the Clean Energy Future Package in the 2000s and establishing the Clean Energy Regulator. He also worked on international climate change issues at the OECD between 2002-04. Most recently he was Executive Director Climate Change and Sustainability in the ACT Government, Strategic Advisor NSW Electricity Taskforce and CEO of not for profit Beyond Zero Emissions.
