Sue Jordan

Sue is a professor of medicines management and health services research. Her group is developing and implementing patient monitoring, to identify and minimize any undesirable effects of prescription medicines and optimize doses. Our intervention ADRe saves lives and reduces prescribing of mental health medicines and the prevalence ofundesirable effects. All our nurse-led clinical trials and analyses of large, linked healthcare databases demonstrate the importance of balancing the benefits and harms of medicines and ensuring that monitoring is in place to ensure patient safety. Our findings influenced recommendations for lower doses of medicines in labour, which was followed by improvement in UK breastfeeding rates.
