Deputy Program Director, Health Security, Burnet Institute

Dr Suman Majumdar has over 10 years of experience in global health delivery of infectious diseases responses, integrating implementation science, health systems strengthening and capacity building. He is currently the Deputy Program Director for Health Security and co-head of the TB Elimination and Implementation Science group at the Burnet Institute. He has specialist skills in the clinical and programmatic management of TB and drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) with field experience in PNG, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, China, India, Mexico, Swaziland and Georgia/Abkhazia including work with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF). Dr Majumdar continues clinical practice as an infectious diseases physician at the Alfred Hospital, First Step Program in Melbourne (treating viral hepatitis) and engages in teaching as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University.
