Suzi Syme

Dr Syme is Associate Dean (Education) of SCU College and Academic Coordinator of the national award winning enabling program, the Preparing for Success Program. Suzi's main focus is on student voice and building a culture of student success where students are empowered to engage with their learning and build authentic partnerships with their tutors. Suzi's recent publications include an evaluation of the impact of the enabling program on students' lives supported with quantitative data over several years and underpinned by the use of a critical pedagogy. She has designed a new framework - the GEMS of Success - which details four key strategies to underpin curriculum and pedagogy design that came out of student focused research. Other research interests include the power of specific and timely feedback where students and tutors work together to ensure practical application of feedback to enhance learning and successful outcomes.
