Tarik Basbugoglu

Tarik Basbugoglu is a PhD Candidate at Glasgow Caledonian University. His subject is What are the Impacts of Syrian Civil War on Bilateral Relations between Turkey and the US. He focuses on how the AKP (Justice and Development party) political elites use material interests, policy of prestige and identity-making as a discursive tool to appeal the Turkish public and the US political elites during the Syrian Civil War. Tarik Basbugoglu is a member of PSA (Political Studies Association), MESA (Middle East Studies Association), and will present a paper at ISA (International Studies Association) annual conference in 2020 Hawaii on refuges, statelessness, and the UN
