Research Fellow, University of Oxford

Ted Lechterman is a political philosopher who studies how democratic ideals apply to the private and artificial agents. He is the author of The Tyranny of Generosity: Why Philanthropy Corrupts Our Politics and How We Can Fix It (Oxford University Press, 2021). Currently a research fellow at the Institute for Ethics in AI at University of Oxford, he has held previous fellowships at the Hertie School in Berlin, the Centre for Advanced Studies Justitia Amplificata at Goethe University Frankfurt, and the McCoy Center for Ethics in Society at Stanford University.
