Thanya Pathirana

Senior Lecturer, School of Medicine, Griffith University

Thanya is a senior lecturer in medical education and associate lead of Doctor and Health in the Community theme (public health) at School of medicine, Griffith University at Sunshine Coast. She is a medical doctor from Sri Lanka with a Masters in Public health from Griffith University and currently in the final stages of her PhD in overdiagnosis of prostate cancer in Australia. She has published her work in leading medical journals including BMJ, MJA and BMJ open. Her other research interests include medical education, health promotion and prevention of non communicable diseases. She teaches evidence based medicine, clinical epidemiology and clinical skills to medical students across all years of the MD program.
