Thomas McNamara is a lecturer at La Trobe University and the deputy director of La Trobe's Master of International Development, prior to this he was a post-doctoral anthropologist on a European Research Council Project at the University of Leige in Belgium (http://www.workinmining.ulg.ac.be/). His primary research interests are adaptations and utilisations of western institutions and structures of governance, and how international economies are shaped by affective relationships and moral norms and he has worked in Malawi and Zambia.
