Senior Research Investigator, Newcastle University

Tim Gray is Emeritus Professor of Political Thought and part-time Senior Research Investigator at the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology, Newcastle University, UK. His main research interest is in fisheries governance, and he has co-authored publications on discards, the EU CFP, the International Whaling Commission, marine environmental NGOs, fisheries-dependent communities in the UK, offshore windfarms' impact on fisheries, fishers' knowledge, fishers as environmental stewards, stakeholder participation in fisheries management, the ecosystem-based approach to fisheries management, the North Sea cod recovery programme, small-scale fisheries in the UK, Thailand and India, marine protected areas (MPAs) in the UK, Thailand and Honduras, EU Fisheries Partnership Agreements with Mauritania, territoriality in the Northumberland lobster fishery, and adaptive management.
