Tracey-Ann Palmer

Lecturer, Initial Teacher Education, University of Technology Sydney

I research how students choose their subjects for their final years at school and what this means for science. I have also been involved in a number of research projects at the UTS aimed at enhancing the quality of primary and secondary science teaching in Australian schools.

I've had several careers - in research science (biochemistry), a personnel manager, a product and project manager in the finance industry, and a lecturer in business. I am a trained teacher and have a PhD in education.

I am currently a lecturer at the UTS and I teach future teachers in science and technology, curriculum integration and adolescent psychology. I also serve on the Science Teachers’ Association of NSW Council.

I also have two wonderful adult daughters and am a singer-songwriter with three publicly released albums.
