Tracy Dennis-Tiwary

Professor of Psychology, Hunter College

Tracy A. Dennis-Tiwary (Ph.D. Pennsylvania State University) is a Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at The City University of New York. She conducts NIH-funded studies on teen anxiety and risk for youth suicide and on the impact of technology on social-emotional health. She has published over 90 scientific articles and delivered over 400 invited and scientific presentations. She has served as an advisor for media outlets such as ABC and Universal Kids, where she consulted on their “Growing Kind Children” initiative. She has been featured in media outlets such as the New York Times, ABC Special Report “Screentime” with Diane Sawyer, Wall Street Journal, CBS, CNN, NPR, The Today Show, and Bloomberg Television. She explores the interplay between digital technology and emotional well-being on her blog Psyche’s Circuitry and the role of emotions in well-being on the the Psychology Today Blog More than a Feeling. She is the Co-Executive Director of the Center for Health Technology at Hunter College, where the mission is to connect researchers, community stake holders, and technology innovators, and to focus on technology solutions that bridge the healthcare gap and reduce health disparities in NYC and beyond. She is also Co-Founder of Wise Therapeutics, a digital therapeutics company translating cutting-edge science into digital tools for behavioral health.
