Vibeke Maria Viestad

Research Fellow in Archaeology, University of Oslo

Viestad is a Norwegian archaeologist and Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeology, Conservation and History at the University of Oslo. Honorary Research Fellow at the Rock Art Research Institute, Wits University, Johannesburg from 2017.

She has a PhD in archaeology at the University of Oslo 2015: "Dress as Social Relations. An interpretation of 'Bushman dress' as represented in the Bleek&Lloyd, Dorothea Bleek and Louis Fourie Collections in South Africa".

Master in archaeology at the University of Oslo 2006: "Goternes historie". Historisk migrasjon og etnisitet i en arkeologisk fortolkningsramme.

Honorary Research Associate with the Department of Social Anthropology (Archive and Public Culture Research Initiative), University of Cape Town from 2012.
