Vic Edwards was born in Shanghai, China where his father was a stockbroker and also accountant for British American Tobacco Company. The family moved to Australia when Vic was 5 years old and he was educated at Sydney University and Macquarie University.He was Divisional Administrative Head of two CSIRO Divisions - Fisheries and Oceanography, and Irrigation Research before joining Charles Sturt University, UNSW, Sydney University and becoming Foundation Head of the School of Business and Technology at University of Western Sydney, Campbelltown.
Vic then left academia and was Executive Director of the Permanent Building Societies Association (NSW) and was later offered teh position of General Manager of Aetna Investment Management Aust. Ltd. On return to academia, Vic became the Director of the Asia Pacific Financial Research Centre at UNSW and was involved in research and development of Chinese educational and financial markets for the last 15 years. He is currently Visiting Fellow at UNSW and also part-time Professorial Visiting Fellow at China Youth University of Political Studies in Beijing. He has many refereed publications is a recent co-author of the textbook by Timothy W Kock et al., on "Bank Management - A Decision-Making Perspective" (2014, Asian Edition, published by Cengage Learning).
