Clinical Associate Professor of Dentistry, New York University

Dr. William J. Maloney has been a member of the faculty at NYU College of Dentistry since 2000. He also practices dentistry in Westchester County. He is the past Chairman of the dental practice committee for the Ninth District Dental Association of the State of New York. He is the recipient of the American College of Prosthodontists Achievement Award and the American Dental Association's Award for Service in a Foreign Country.

Dr. Maloney is the author of 334 professional publications and has lectured at various locations including including the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. His work has been featured by many media outlets including the Sporting News magazine, NBC News (NYC), the Washington Post, and the Detroit Free Press. Dr. Maloney currently serves on the executive committee of History of Medicine and Public Health at the New York Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Maloney received on-screen credit for his appearance in "Universal Babe," which premiered at the New York Times building in 2012. In the film, Dr. Maloney discusses nasopharyngeal carcinoma — the disease which took the life of baseball icon Babe Ruth. Dr. Maloney is the author of six books, including Safari: Looking into the Eye of the Leopard, which has been called by one reviewer "a beautiful book that not only examines the self, but the country side of Africa."

He is also the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Dentistry and Orofacial Surgery and is a member of New York City's famed Explorers Club.
