Acting director of the School for Data Science and Computational Thinking, Stellenbosch University

I am a medical doctor by training, with a PhD in medical sciences (focused on HIV epidemiology). My work has involved the development of individual-based simulation models and the application of statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to describe and analyse the behavioural and biological processes underlying HIV epidemics. I recently became the acting director for DiSeCT, the new School for Data Science and Computational Thinking at Stellenbosch University.
