Associate Professor, Heriot-Watt University

Dr Wiaux is an Associate Professor and is Director of the Biomedical and Astronomical Signal Processing (BASP) group at the Institute of Sensors, Signals, and Systems.

He also has a visiting position in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Edinburgh (UoE), aiming to foster collaborations between various institutes at Heriot-Watt and UoE.

The research of the Biomedical and Astronomical Signal Processing (BASP) group that Dr Wiaux runs spans the following areas:

Advanced signal processing - inverse problems, sparsity, wavelet techniques, compressed sensing, signal processing on the sphere;

Biomedical imaging - data acquisition and image reconstruction in magnetic resonance and ultrasound imaging;

Astrophysics - imaging techniques in radio and optical interferometry, cosmological data analysis.
