Protecting wheat crops

University of Sydney scientists have found a resistance to the fungal disease stem rust Ug99, which has been harming international wheat crops.

Approximately 90% of the world’s wheat crops are defenseless to Ug99.

The findings will assist the development of long-term broad spectrum resistances for wheat.
