Psychopaths have different brain structure

There is strong evidence that psychopathy is related to structural abnormalities in the brain, according to a recent study.

The researchers used MRI scans to compare anti-social personality disorder (ASPD) brains and psychopath brains, especially in the “social” areas of the brain.

Researchers now think that pyschopathy is a subgroup of ASPD with a different neurobiolgical basis, and so requires different treatment plans.
