Quantum sensor could aid drug discovery

A quantum atom has been tracked inside a living human cell for the first time, potentially opening the door to advanced methods of testing and developing new drugs. The nanodiamond-encased atom acts as a sensor, making it possible to explore the nanoscale environment inside living cells.
