Scientists invent new dengue-detecting tool

Detecting dengue virus-carrying mosquitoes will become easier following the development of a portable detection tool.

The equipment does not require specialised skill or equipment to use, and so can be used in any part of the world.

By quickly discovering dengue-carrying mosquitoes, authorities can then act to suppress mosquito populations. This is one of the most effective ways to control the virus.
