Stress linked to parent’s childhood

Researchers have used rats in a study to discover stress and resilience can be inherited. Rats were used in the study because their rate of development and reproduction.

The study authors found that early treatment of mother’s had an impact on the behaviour of their offspring.

Baby rats exposed to stress showed signs of behavioral impairment but also displayed characteristics of resilience.
