Super mildew threatens WA barley

Baudin barley, one of Western Australia’s key crops, is threatened by powerdery mildew disease as fungicides lose effictivess.

Commonly used fungicides based on triazole are no longer effective, suggesting that the entire Western Australia pathogen population is resistant to the fungicide. While some fungicides remain effective, they are better at protecting crops from pathogens, rather than eradicating them.
