Biofuel development tends to focus either on how to grow the fuel or how to process it, but researchers are now working on an end-to-end study which not only grows and processes the fuel, but tests it in real-world engines and cars. The study is aimed at developing a system - a ‘pyrolysis biorefinery’ - which can produce competitively priced fuel from waste construction wood and plantation residues.
