Synthetic DNA has been turned into a material that can flow like a liquid but retain its original shape.
The “hydrogel” – organic materials linked together in a mesh that can absorb water – was made by combining synthetic DNA with particular enzymes.
Future applications include the administration of drugs through the hydrogel, or the treatment of wounds.
