Thirty-seven weeks optimal time for twin births

Women pregnant with twins should give birth at 37 weeks to avoid complications, according to new research.

Thirty-seven weeks was shown to be the optimal time to give birth to twins, with significant reductions in morbidity without increasing issues related to immaturity or induction of labour.

The researchers hope that their study (the biggest ever on timing of birth for twins) results will establish guidelines for health professionals.
